THE FIRST OVERSEAS SAILING OF KN TANJUNG DATU
13 - 16 May 2019; Indonesian Coast Guard (Bakamla) ship, KN Tanjung Datu arrived in Port Blair, India on May 13, 2019. The Call visit to Port Blair is the first overseas sailing for that brand new patrol vessels. The aims of this goodwill visit is to enhance bilateral cooperation between the Coast Guard of two countries, especially to create secure and safety border between countries, improve the capability of the personnels during the joint training and implement the function of maritime diplomacy.
The length of the ship reaches 110 meters, 15,5 meters wide. The ship also capable of driving with a maximum speed of 18 knots and cruising speed of 15 knots. KN Tanjung Datu also known as "Sea Monsters'' ship from Indonesian Coast Guard (Bakamla) because of their size.
KN Tanjung Datu was intentionally made to secure the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) because the ship supports SAR operations, the base of the Drone operation and can be landed by helicopters.
